WP 3: Association office



In WP 3, we create the organizational and technical basis for a coordinated pursuit of the interests of data-intensive radio astronomy at the national, European, and international levels.

The Association for Data-Intensive Radio Astronomy (VdR) coordinates the development of infrastructure for data-intensive radio astronomy, concentrates the necessary administrative and technical expertise, and coordinates the representation of interests vis-à-vis politicians and potential funding agencies. It also plays this role in the B3D cluster and thus supports the project. As the office of the VdR, WP 3 also organizes the acquisition and allocation of funds for the association and thus promotes the development of its activities in Germany, especially in NRW. In the current, decisive phase of MeerKAT and SKA, WP 3 coordinates the preparation of an application for the National Roadmap for Scientific Infrastructures.
